Can the frustrated striker do the same on Friday night if he is called upon by Leeds boss Darko Milanic?
Things were a little different back then, of course, with a young Sharp enjoying two prolific years at Scunthorpe before having spells at a number of different clubs.
The striker is now 28 and has admitted his frustration at a lack of playing time at Leeds United.
As Opta stats show, Sharp has only played 490 minutes of his side's Championship campaign so far, scoring just the one goal and only getting one assist.
Those statistics are not too unfavourable compared to the rest of the Leeds squad, however, especially as Sharp has created seven chances - only bettered by a handful of his team-mates.
Should boss Darko Milanic call upon the forward during Friday's Yorkshire derby at Rotherham United, then, he will no doubt be eager to impress in front of goal.
And, judging by the above video, the 28-year-old certainly knows how to score against the Millers, with whom he spent time as a youth player.
It was exactly nine years ago yesterday that Sharp bagged that brace. Now it's time for the Leeds man to rediscover those shooting boots.
