Tottenham duo Kane and Carroll react on Twitter to England under-21 victory

Three Lions close

Tottenham youngsters reacted with delight on Twitter as England's under-21 side qualified for next year's European Championships.

With a 2-1 lead from the first leg, England's task ahead of a trip to Croatia was finely poised.

The under-21 side produced an impressive display to earn the same result away from home last night, winning by the same margin and 4-2 on aggregate.

The Three Lions' goals in Zagreb came through Liam Moore and Will Hughes.

After the game, England's young heroes took to Twitter to celebrate the win, including Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Tom Carroll, the latter currently on loan at Swansea City.

England's chances of tournament success next summer have also been boosted by the failure of reigning champions Spain to qualify, and France also being knocked out last night.

The side is full of talent, and has proved a valuable learning experience for the likes of Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge in recent years.

For Tottenham, having both players feature strongly at the tournament next summer will be a real boost for the club moving forward, and right now, Harry Kane is even looking like their most reliable striker.
