Winston Reid's representatives are reportedly waiting to see what offers are likely to be made for the defender.
The Daily Mail claim West Ham United will look to sort out the future of Winston Reid next week.
The Mail suggests that while his representatives are keen on a bigger deal for him at West Ham, they are open to seeing what sorts of offers come his way before his deal expires at the end of the season.
“West Ham are hoping to hold talks over a new contract for defender Winston Reid next week,” writes Simon Jones.
“It is understood his advisers are waiting to see what other offers come forward although West Ham are prepared to give him a contract that will push him towards their top earners.”
Reid was voted as West Ham’s player of the year for 2013 and he’s been a key player in their back four so far in this campaign.
Tottenham’s interest is difficult to understand considering they signed Eric Dier from Sporting Lisbon and Federico Fazio from Sevilla over the course of the summer, giving them more options at centre-back.
That would seemingly hand the advantage to Liverpool but they too signed a new centre back in the form of Dejan Lovren while moving on a very experienced player in Daniel Agger.
The summer business of each suggests they won’t make any imminent moves for Reid and that puts the ball firmly in the court of West Ham as they look to close out a new contract for one of their key players as they look to consolidate in the top half of the table this season.
