Bayern Munich star Dante has been talking about his happiness in Germany.
He is so content in the country, he reveals, that he even wants to become German.
The defender told SportBild: "I have a very good identification with Germany my family likes it very well here, my son Diogo. I would like to remain in my career in Germany. Using a German passport that would be easier. "
Wolfsburg's Naldo told me about it, I've discussed this with my wife. We think this is a good idea."
He added that he even is willing to take a citizenship exam in a year's time when he is eligible.
Back in January, the Brazilian defender spoke out to suggest he could be heading for Manchester United, telling Fox Sports: "I'm thankful for the Manchester United interest. It will all be sorted out by the end of the month. We have to wait until 31 January because there is a lot going on."
It was suspected at the time, reported by The Guardian, that the defender was 'using United as leverage', while locked in contract negotiations with the South American.
The centre-back renewed his deal two months later, promptly going onto clinch the Bundesliga title with Bayern.
His latest comments suggest he was never really taking United seriously at all, for he is so at home in Germany he wants to go that extra step and apply for a passport. If Louis van Gaal had any plans to revisit interest next year, he would be best advised not to waste his time.
