Manchester City latest: Young defender speaks; Lampard on salary-cap

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Manchester City’s on-loan midfielder Frank Lampard has been speaking about the possibility of having a salary-cap in football.

In comments published by the BBC, the former England star said, “I don’t know if there is a legal minefield on that one.

“It might be something they look at but I don’t know whether it is possible.”

Lampard did however reveal that both his former club Chelsea and his current side City are trying to make a difference when it comes to fans paying to watch their team.

“They are trying to freeze prices, “Lampard said. “They are trying to put layers in to encourage people from whatever background to be able to come.”

In other news, City youngster Cameron Humphreys has been speaking to the club’s website about representing his country at youth level.

“It’s always good to play for your country and I captained them once as well,” Humphreys said.

The 16-year-old also revealed how it felt to sign for City’s Academy.

“It felt good to sign but also surreal,” he said. “It shows that you can push on and get what you want if you carry on working hard.”
