Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook has been named in a list of football’s top 50 current wonderkids.
TeamTalk have started to release segments of their youngsters to keep an eye on and Cook is in the mix alongside some of the best talents from all over Europe, coming in at 32nd in the top 50.
Cook’s impact on the Leeds United first team considering he’s just 17-years-old has been remarkable.
He’s made nine appearances in the Championship so far this season with six starts, three appearances off the bench and a pass completion rate of 79.3% from those performances so far.
Add to the mix that he’s in the England under-18 side and playing above his age group and it’s clear to see why he’s so highly rated around Elland Road.
His progress is a tribute to the solid job Neil Redfearn is doing in charge of the Leeds academy and long may it continue if more players like Cook are produced over the next couple of years.
