Derby County midfielder George Thorne took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal the latest regarding his anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The former West Bromwich Albion player suffered the blow shortly after completing a permanent move to the Rams in the summer, but today he wrote, "Good review with the specialist today! Injury progressing according to plan."
Huge things were expected of Thorne this season and it was a terrible blow for him to be ruled out so soon after completing a move that had excited the majority of Derby fans.
The initial prognosis was that he would be out for nine months with the injury, but he will be pleased that he has suffered no further setbacks and remains on course to be back before the end of the season which, given the severity of the injury, can only be a positive.
