Celtic loanee John Guidetti scored for Sweden's under-21 side last night to help them win a crucial play-off match.

The Manchester City owned striker bagged a goal in a 4-1 win over France in the second leg of a European Championship play-off match, ensuring their qualification for next summer's tournament.

Guidetti, 22, is eligible to play for the side due to being 21 when qualifying began, and is likely to spearhead the side's attack if he can stay fit.

After two lost seasons due to injuries, he is beginning to recapture the form he shown on loan at Feyenoord in 2011/12 which made him one of Europe's most coveted youngsters.

Sweden had been 2-0 down from the first leg, with Guidetti's goal putting them 3-2 up on aggregate before they rounded the game off with a late fourth.

The win is likely to provide the striker with even greater confidence, with the Swede scoring three goals in his previous three games before the international break.
