Southampton striker was Italy's hero against Malta.
Graziano Pelle had a night he will never forget for Italy on Monday.
The Southampton striker scored on his international debut, netting the winner from close range against Malta.
His celebration was reminiscent of Italian hero Marco Tardelli, who famously netted in the 1982 World Cup final.
At 28-years-old, Pelle's career for the Azzurri is only just beginning, but he could not have asked for a better start.
A 1-0 win away to Malta was not a spectacular result, but for Italy the three points mean it is a satisfactory one.
Pelle was influential throughout, attempting four shots on goal and creating two chances. Most importantly for Southampton, he came through the game unscathed and is likely to be available for the Saints this weekend against Sunderland this weekend.
