Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has congratulated his former teammate John O'Shea on scoring on his 100th appearance for the Republic of Ireland.
The Sunderland defender scored the injury-time equaliser in Ireland’s 1-1 draw with Germany in the Euro 2016 Group D qualifier at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen on Tuesday.
Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos put 2014 World Cup winners Germany in the lead in the 71st minute, but O’Shea volleyed home in the 94th minute to earn Ireland a point.
It was the former United man’s 100th match for his country, and Rooney was delighted with his heroics, taking to social networking site Twitter to congratulate him.
