Manchester City must be careful, Juventus want youngster Rekik

Italian champions Juventus are said to be weighing up a move for Manchester City owned defensive prospect Karim Rekik.

Karim Rekik is yet to get a chance to impress at Manchester City and Juventus may be lingering hoping to pounce.

The 19-year-old defender was snapped up by Man City in 2011 and made his debut for the club in the League Cup against Birmingham City as a substitute in the September of that year.

But since then Rekik has been sent on loan to Portsmouth and Blackburn and is currently at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

Rekik has been a solid starter for PSV and has even been called up to the Netherlands side, so he won't put up with being farmed out for much longer.

Juventus are said to be watching the Feyenoord youth product and Tuttosport claims that Bianconeri directors see Rekik as a potential successor to star defender Giorgio Chiellini.

The Italian side may struggle to persuade Manchester City to part with a talent they are nurturing for the future, but the promise of more first-team opportunities could turn the player's head.

The Old Lady have increasingly turned their focus to young talent and have already pulled off huge coups in signing Paul Pogba and Kingsley Coman, maybe Rekik could be next.
