Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli may be struggling to get into the Italy national team at the moment, but he is happy that they are winning.
The former Manchester City star has struggled for goals and with poor form so far this season and was left out of Italy’s Euro 2016 qualifiers during this international break.
Balotelli’s omission did not affect the Azzurri, though, as the European giants won both their Group H games to make it three wins out of three in the qualifying campaign.
Antonio Conte’s side edged past Azerbaijan 2-1 at the Stadio Renzo Barbera in Palermo last week, and on Monday they got the better of Malta 1-0 away from home.
Southampton striker Graziano Pelle scored the only goal of the game at the Ta' Qali National Stadium in Ta' Qali on his debut for Italy.
The 29-year-old’s impressive form for Southampton has seen him get his chance for Italy, and Balotelli was happy for him.
Following Italy’s victory, the Liverpool man posted the following photo on Instagram along with the message: ‘Bravo Italy! Bravo Pelle, keep it up!’.
Brava Italia! Bravissimo Pellè , avanti così!
