Southampton striker Graziano Pelle made a dream start to life as an Italy international last night, as he scored the vital goal in the Azzurri's 1-0 win over Malta.
The qualifier was far from dull as two red cards were shown in a pretty heated encounter.
It may not have been the prettiest goal but the 29-year-old was in the right place at the right time to keep the Azzurri's 100% start to the Euro 2016 qualifiers as he struck from close range.
Inevitably, Saints fans, along with avid followers of the Italian were delighted their man was able to get on the scoresheet for his country, and the striker will no doubt return to his club with a spring his step.
