Hull City latest: Academy insight; Chester on vital win

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the KC Stadium…

Hull City defender James Chester has spoken following Wales’s vital win against Cyprus on Monday evening.

Chris Coleman’s side won 2-1 and in quotes published by Hull’s official website, Chester said, “That was a massive three points for us, especially after the point we took last Friday.

“After going down to 10 men early in the second half we dug deep and we showed the strength that we’ve got.”

The result took Wales top of Group B in the race to qualify for Euro 2016.

In other news, the Hull Daily Mail has published a feature on the Tigers’ Academy at Bishop Burton College.

The club’s academy manager Tony Pennock told the newspaper, “We’ve had people come to visit us and they are pleasantly surprised.

“You’ll not find these views anywhere else in the Premier League but you can’t fault the facilities.”

City’s under-18s and their under-21s now train there and it appears to have been a good move, with the former group of players enjoying a 100 per cent start to their league campaign, winning five out of five.
