"Come join me at Napoli", Callejon tells Cazorla on radio

Cazorla Corner

Napoli man José Maria Callejon may have been linked with Arsenal, but he cheekily called Santi Cazorla to Italy in a radio interview.

Spanish star José Callejon appealed to compatriot Santi Cazorla to join him at Napoli during a radio interview this morning.

The 27-year-old has really made his mark at Napoli since signing from Real Madrid in July 2013 and can be deployed either as a winger or a forward.

Callejon's efforts have been noted by clubs across Europe and there have been rumours linking him with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool over the last few months.

However, Callejon has been adamant that he is happy at Napoli and today tried to tempt Cazorla to come to the Stadio San Paolo.

"Why don't you join me at Napoli?" he said on Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

Cazorla didn't dismiss the idea out of hand, instead stating: "You'd have to talk to Rafa Benitez and then we'll see."

It was suggested at the start of the summer that Chelsea may put in a £26 million offer for Callejon, but they focused on other targets instead.

If Napoli continue to struggle as they are so far this season, they may miss out on Champions League qualification for next season, which could cause Callejon to look for a new club.
