The England under-21 side take on Croatia this evening looking for a win which would put them into the Euro 2015 under-21 Championship next summer.
Gareth Southgate’s side are in good shape due to a 2-1 win from the first leg and Ladbrokes has backed Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane to maintain his good form this evening.
Kane bagged the equaliser in the first match between the sides and the bookie has piled the praise onto the Spurs star ahead of the match this evening suggesting that he’s been harshly treated by his club in comparison to Saido Berhaino of West Brom.
“Spurs’ 21-year-old has found a scoring touch this season, netting three times in the assorted cup competitions the north London club have contested thus far,” writes Ladbrokes on their website.
“His start to life as an U21 international has been fast, with six goals coming in his eight caps to date and he has scored in all of England’s last three outings.”
“While Kane must settle for cup run-outs, Berahino leads the Baggies’ line and has done so thus far with aplomb, beating opposition keepers six times in nine matches.”
Kane is making the most of his opportunities to put Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino under pressure as he hunts for a regular starting slot in the Premier League.
He’s yet to start a match in the Premier League this season with only two starts in the Europa League for Spurs this season.
Tottenham Hotspur face Manchester City this weekend in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off and a positive performance this evening for the under-21 side could see Kane preferred to Emmanuel Adebayor or Roberto Soldado this weekend.
