Aston Villa fans took to twitter on Tuesday afternoon to have their say on Jack Grealish putting pen to paper on a new four-year deal.

After weeks of speculation, Aston Villa fans were relieved to hear that teenage winger Jack Grealish has at last committed his long-term future to the club.

Having entered the final season of his contract, Grealish’s future has been the subject of much speculation over the past month, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United reported to be interested in his signature.

However, the Solihull-native had expressed his desire to remain with his childhood club on multiple occasions in the past, and has now finally been rewarded with a new four-year deal, reported to be worth around £20,000-per-week.

‘I’m delighted, it’s a club I’ve grown up supporting so to stay here for another four years is a dream come true,’ he was quoted on the Birmingham Mail.

‘To come through the academy and follow in the footsteps of some of the senior players here is great for me.

‘I’ve been a Villa fan since I was a little kid so it’s like home to me.

‘I’ve made my way into the first-team and hopefully I’m here to stay now.’

Aged 19, Grealish has been hailed as one of the building blocks of Villa’s future after making his first-team breakthrough this season, earning rave reviews from four Premier League cameos and one Capital One Cup start thus far.

Fans are eager to see what the Republic of Ireland under-21 international can do with more top-flight minutes, and the reaction shows that big things are expected among the claret and blue faithful going forward.
