It was an impressive week for Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik who helped inspire Slovakia to wins over Spain and Belarus.
Hamsik has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United over the last few months and is said to be growing unsettled at Napoli.
The 27-year-old has been in Naples since signing from Brescia in 2007 and has grown with each year, becoming a transcendent figure for Rafa Benitez's side.
But Napoli's preliminary round Champions League exit to Athletic Bilbao and far from perfect start to the Serie A campaign has raised questions over Hamsik's future.
A bidding war between the Premier League giants is possible in January and Hamsik showed why Liverpool and Manchester United might do well to enter an auction.
