'Maybe the three best in the world,' Herrera praises United trio

Ander Herrera has been speaking about three of his Manchester United teammates.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has hailed the club’s strike trio of Robin van Persie, Radamel Falcao and Wayne Rooney in an interview with Inside United.

In comments later published by United’s official website, the Spaniard revealed his individual ambitions for the rest of the season and his thoughts on the Premier League.

“I want to score more goals,” Herrera said. “It’s very important for the midfielders.

“I like assists as well and I think we have maybe the best three strikers in the world here in Rooney, van Persie and Falcao.”

That is a bold statement from the former Athletic Bilbao player, but it is clear he is relishing the chance to play behind such prolific front-men, and having netted twice already himself, he will be hoping to get back on the field as soon as possible.

Currently side-line with a rib injury, Herrera also praised the English top flight.

“The Premier League is a great league,” he said. “It’s a very quick league, non-stop and great spectacle for the fans.”

Having seen a mooted move fall through in the summer of 2013, it is clear Herrera is now loving life as a United player, and his influence in the centre of the park has already been such that fans – and teammates for that matter – will be hoping he is back sooner rather than later.
