Manchester City latest: Dzeko praises Kompany’s men; Player of the Month announced

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has been speaking ahead of Bosnia’s match against Belgium on Monday evening.

The forward will come face-to-face with his Blues teammate Vincent Kompany and, in comments published by the Manchester Evening News, Dzeko has praised Marc Wilmots’ side.

“They are not a team with just a couple of exceptional players,” Dzeko said, “their whole team is great. As I said they are one of the best European teams and they are on a good run since the World Cup, they played well there.”

In other news, Frank Lampard has been awarded City’s Player of the Month award for September.

The midfielder scored four goals last month, including one against his former club Chelsea that could ultimately have a big say on the title race.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Lampard could start this weekend’s game against Tottenham Hotspur given that Fernandino and Samir Nasri are out injured and Yaya Toure could arrive back late from international duty.
