Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has been singing the praises of his teammate Nacer Chadli.
Chadli, who joined Tottenham from FC Twente in the summer of 2013, has a laudable pass accuracy of 84%, although he needs to improve on his shot accuracy which is 46%.
Vertonghen, who plays alongside the former AGOVV Apeldoorn star for the Belgium national team as well, is still impressed with his compatriot’s displays this season.
‘It’s great that he’s growing’, the 27-year-old told Tottenham’s official website. ‘He’s a very good player and it’s a shame he couldn’t show what he is capable of last year but now we’re seeing the real Nacer. We already knew from his performances for Belgium what he was able to do so I’m pleased for him and the club’.
Vertonghen himself has been in good form for Tottenham so far this campaign. The 27-year-old has a 100% shot accuracy and a 91% pass accuracy, while making 10 defensive actions and winning 52% of the duels.
Vertonghen and Chadli both are on international duty for Belgium at the moment, but they will be back in Premier League action on Saturday when Tottenham take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
