Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a highly-rated Spaniard.
Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to bring Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi to White Hart Lane.
Football Espana has picked up on claims from Mundo Deportivo, that the former player wants to leave his role at Sevilla at the end of his current contract, and that while Barcelona is his “dream destination” both Spurs and Bayern Munich are also interested in his services.
Monchi – or Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo to give him his full name – has been at Sevilla in his post-playing capacity for over a decade, and he has been hailed as the reason the La Liga club are, well, a La Liga club.
So with a move seemingly on the cards, and with the latest report claiming Zenit St Petersburg had offered him a blank cheque to make the move to Russia only for him to politely decline, it seems Tottenham have their eyes on a man who would be welcomed by many clubs across the globe.
If Barcelona are really Monchi’s preferred club, Tottenham may end up disappointed, with Mauricio Pochettino reportedly open to welcoming him to London if the opportunity arises.
