Rossiter says this Liverpool youngster is most skilful at his level

Jordan Rossiter on who he thinks is the most skilful young Liverpool player at the Academy.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Rossiter may be many fans’ pick as the next young player to break into the Reds’ first-team, but the 17-year-old has thrown another name into the proverbial hat.

In an interview with Liverpool’s official website, Rossiter was asked who the most skilful player at his level was, to which he replied “Ryan Kent”.

So while Rossiter is well and truly in the minds of the Anfield faithful following his debut goal against Middlesbrough earlier this season, what should we know about Kent?

The 17-year-old is a secondary striker who can also play on either wing, and having grown up together, Rossiter and Kent should know each other’s games inside-out.

Kent has already impressed in the UEFA Youth League this season, providing assists in consecutive matches against Ludogorets Razgrad and FC Basel, while he has also got on the score-sheet himself for the under-21s against West Ham United.

While he made waves as a forward in the 2013 Milk Cup, more recently he has operated as a left-winger, and that flexibility could make him a fantastic addition to future Liverpool first-team squads.

As with Rossiter there is a long way for Kent to go, but the Reds continue to impress with their conveyor-belt of young talent, which shows no signs of stopping just yet…
