England were expected to ease to a comfortable victory over Estonia in their Euro 2016 Group E qualifier away from home tonight.
However, it was a narrow 1-0 win for the Three Lions at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn, and the winner was scored by Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney.
Rooney worked hard in the first half and tried his best, but it simply did not happen for him. As the following picture shows, the former Everton star, Jack Wilshere and the rest of the England players were frustrated by their failure to get the better of an Estonia side that looked strong in defence in the first 45 minutes.
England continued to go on the attack in the second half and got the winning goal in the 73rd minute. It was Rooney who delivered for the Three Lions, finding the target with a brilliant free kick just as there was a hint that he could be replaced by Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert.
Rooney had missed two good chances in the first half, but it was his goal that saw England pick up their third successive win in the qualifying campaign and remain top of Group E.
