Victor Valdes may not be heading to Anfield, after all.
The newspaper claims that boss Brendan Rodgers made a request to the Spaniard to join up with the Reds' squad to prove his fitness.
Valdes, however, was uninterested, seeing the offer as more of a trial, something he is reluctant to do.
That complication has reportedly ended Liverpool's bid to sign the former Barcelona goalkeeper, who is a free agent this summer.
Interestingly, the People's claim comes just two days after Spanish publication Marca suggested that the 32-year-old is only a medical away from moving to Merseyside.

Rodgers is said to want to bring Valdes to Anfield to replace or, at the very least, provide competition for current no.1 Simon Mignolet.
The Belgian has been criticised for his start to the current season and, as Opta stats show, he has conceded 10 goals and made 18 saves in the Premier League so far.
Mignolet has also claimed 80 per cent of the crosses he has faced.
