The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder says the Arsenal boss was the best coach he ever had.

David Bentley has had a lot of managers.

The now-retired footballer, who co-owns a restaurant in Marbella, played for seven different clubs during his career, including Arsenal and Spurs.

But, for the former England man, one stands out above the rest.

Indeed, according to the 30-year-old, Arsene Wenger is the best coach he has worked with 'by a mile.'

“Arsene Wenger was the best by a mile. He was always coaching, every day. He was always a part of it. He always spoke well and he continues to do it," Bentley told the Daily Mirror.

“Wenger was the best manager I played for. He gets stick now because he has been involved in it so long and the pressure he must be under. But he loves it, doesn’t he? He cares a lot and he wants his players to succeed.

“Wenger didn’t want me to leave but I was eager to. I was scared of my future back then, what was going to happen."

The Gunners host Hull City in their next Premier League clash, while Tottenham travel to Manchester City once the international break is over.
