According to Dean Jones of the Sunday People, Chelsea fans have already started booking flights for this season's Champions League final. The report states that, in order to cut costs, Blues supporters have moved early to secure their means of travel for the end-of-season showpiece.
Chelsea have played only two European matches thus far, yet supporters must be feeling confident of success. The club have just four points from their opening fixtures, and with ten matches to overcome before the final, Mourinho and co. face a significant battle if they wish to appease the fans' expectations.
As airlines launched their summer schedules this week, optimistic supporters were prepared to take advantage of cheap early fares to the German capital. Though, having been faced with prices of up to £700 for the triumphant 2012 final against Bayern Munich, this will come as little surprise.
One Chelsea season-ticket-holder told People Sport: “I know of at least 25 people who have booked and there will be plenty of others on board by now...probably more than a hundred already.”
The club's supporters have already taken advantage of tickets for as little as £96 with Easyjet. However, with early demand increasing, prices are expected to creep up over the European football weekend.
