At the very least, someone other than West Brom must have expressed an interest in him, as fresh reports are now suggesting the Baggies want to offer the striker a new deal.
Surely it is no coincidence, then, that the club are eager for the England Under-21 star to commit for the club while others are reportedly circling for his signature.
According to the Daily Mirror, that is exactly the case, with Berahino heading for talks over a new contract at the Hawthorns.
It could be an isolated incident, of course, nothing to do with Spurs. But reports have very recently linked the north London side with a £15 million move for the 21-year-old.
Should he sign a new deal at West Brom, it would provide a blow to that ongoing interest, either through the simple reason that he wouldn't leave his current club, or through an elevated price-tag.

As Opta stats show, Berahino has scored more Premier League goals than any Spurs or West Brom player so far this season, netting five in seven appearances.
Both clubs could do with his services, then, but a new deal with the Baggies would certainly leave his current club in the stronger position.
