Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Wilshere performance for England v Estonia

Wilshere England

Jack Wilshere was the man of the match as England beat Estonia 1-0 in Talinn.

England defeated Estonia tonight in what was certainly not a game to go down in the history books. What it was however was a comfortable performance - but the lack of a goal did cause concern for much of the game.

Estonia went down to 10 men when Ragnar Klavan was sent off for two bookable offences and eventually English pressure told - when Wayne Rooney tucked away a free-kick from the edge of the box.

But while Rooney got the winner there was no doubt who the star of the show was in the heart of midfield - Jack Wilshere.

The Arsenal man has struggled to find his best form for England in recent years. Fans and pundits alike have been continuously critical of the midfielder but not because he lacks quality, but because he continually failed to live up to it.

But today he was superb, continuing on an excellent run of form in recent weeks.

It was not just his energy around the pitch but also his excellent range of passing and perfect decision making.

He played some delightful balls behind the Estonian defence and even had a chance himself, unfortunately tucking the ball into the side-netting with his wrong foot.

Sure the opposition was not great but you can only play what you are up against. Arsenal fans will be hoping he carries on this good form into his club football - while they will also hope he stays fit as he finally begins to fulfil that immense pool of talent.
