When Ecuador played USA last night, it was supposed to be all about Landon Donovan. But Valencia somewhat stole the show - or at the very least spoiled the party - with another sensational strike late in the game (see above). And it wasn't the first of its kind from the Ecuadorian, of course, as he almost won Match of the Day's Goal of the Month competition last month.
|Team||Pos||Goals||Assists||Chances Created||Dribbles Won||Apps||Mins|
|Diafra Sakho||West Ham||FW||4||0||0||4||5||379|
|Stewart Downing||West Ham||MF||1||3||22||3||7||629|
|Enner Valencia||West Ham||FW||1||0||3||7||6||361|
That strike, however, was his only goal for West Ham United so far this Premier League season. But, as Opta stats show, the promise is there.
Indeed, the 24-year-old has won seven dribbles when on the ball, while there is no doubt that he has one mean shot on him.
West Ham fans will hope he can produce more of the same once the international break is over. For now, though, they will simply bask in the wonder of Valencia's strike against the USA - which was so good it looked as though it had taken a deflection.

How many goals do we think Valencia and Sakho will bag between the two of them by the end of the season? We say 25. #WHU— WHUFC Fans Corner (@WHUFCFansCorner) October 11, 2014

Enner Valencia! What a goal! I mean, I'm obviously cheering for a US win, but Enner is a West Ham player too. Gotta love seeing him score!— Zachary Zvosecz (@ZacharyZvosecz) October 11, 2014
