Julio Baptista played for Arsenal for just one season and that too on loan, but the Brazilian has a made a revelation that will please many of the Gunners fans.
The Brazilian attacker, who featured for the North London club on loan from Real Madrid for the 2006-07 campaign, has stated how club legend Thierry Henry used to rave about Theo Walcott.
'Thierry always talked about him and said how Theo could use his speed and technique to help us', he told the Arsenal Magazine. ‘He was always a very skilful player. We always talked to him so he could use that to help us.
'He is a different player, and has that something that only the best players have. I’m glad to see that he became the player we thought he could be: a key player for Arsenal and England’.
Walcott joined Arsenal from Southampton in January 2006 and was rated as one of the most promising youngsters in England at the time.
The 25-year-old attacker is one of the quickest players in football, but his progress and development at the Emirates Stadium has been hampered by injuries.
Even now Walcott is on the sidelines. The England international suffered a long-term knee injury last season and is still recovering.
At 25, Walcott has yet to prove himself as one of the best players in the world and fulfil his potential. But with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger maintaining his faith in him, it is only a matter of time before he does just that.
