Mesut Ozil has had a tough month. The German international is struggling out on the wing for The Gunners, and has certainly not lived up to his £42.4 million price-tag since arriving at The Emirates.
On top of that he has suffered a nasty knee injury, ruling him out of action until 2015 at the earliest, according to the German medical team.
In general he does not seem to be happy in himself at the moment, sulking around the pitch and struggling to take games by the scruff of the neck.
But Arsenal are being linked with a player who could truly help him settle in at the club - Sami Khedira.
The Real Madrid midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and he looks far from signing a new deal in the Spanish capital.
With Arsenal in need of a defensive midfielder Khedira fits the bill, and he is very close to Ozil.
This picture gallery shows off their relationship throughout the years.
The pair are good pals, stemming back from their days in the German youth system. They played for the under-21's together and were friendly from the start, despite also going against each other in the Bundesliga for VfB Stuttgart and Werder Bremen respectively.
Ozil and Khedira both signed for Real Madrid in the same summer, back in 2010, so again kept up their friendship at club level.
When Ozil left Khedira expressed his dissatisfaction at the sale in public leaving them to remain team-mates at international level only - where they won the World Cup together this summer, solidifying the pairs special relationship.
With that in mind Khedira would not only be an excellent individual signing for the club - but he might work wonders for Ozil's confidence.
