Liverpool’s Adam Lallana full of praise for Arsenal and England star Calum Chambers

Mathieu Debuchy and Arsenal celebrate (Chambers included)

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana says that he always knew that fellow Englishman and Arsenal defender Calum Chambers was going to be successful.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has revealed that he always knew that Calum Chambers was going to move to a big club.

Lallana and Chambers played together for Southampton, and both left the Saints in the summer. While the attacking midfielder moved to Liverpool for a reported transfer fee of £25 million, the defender joined Arsenal in a £16m deal.

Chambers has settled well in at Arsenal, creating three chances in seven Premier League appearances for the Gunners, while having a laudable pass accuracy of 88%.

The 19-year-old, who can play at right-back, centre-back and midfield, started his first game for England on Thursday, featuring in the Three Lions’ Euro 2016 Group E clash against San Marino at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Lallana has now hailed Chambers and is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: ‘I knew it was a matter of time before he possibly moved on or went to a big, big club. It hasn't surprised me at all how quickly and how well he's started.

‘I was watching the Champions League qualification games and he took to them like a duck to water. He was brilliant, showed great composure and he can play centre-half as well. He is a very talented boy and it's a great thing for England’.
