Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has been speaking about his relationship with Daley Blind on the pitch.
The duo have been made first-team regulars for the Red Devils this season by manager Louis van Gaal.
So far Herrera and Blind have performed well for United, helping the Manchester outfit move up to fourth in the Premier League table with 11 points from seven matches.
Herrera has now given an insight into his on-pitch relationship with Blind, claiming that playing with the Netherlands international is easy.
‘Yes, I think it is easy with Daley', the 25-year-old told Inside United. 'He is always talking on the pitch – about the ball, the situations – and he is always happy to receive the ball in good positions. Angel, Fletch and Juan too. We want to play compact football together and make assists for the strikers’.
Herrera and Blind both joined United in the summer transfer window. While the Spanish midfielder moved to the Premier League giants from Athletic Bilbao for a reported transfer fee of £29 million, the latter arrived at Old Trafford in a £14m deal from Ajax.
Netherlands international Blind has been deployed in defensive midfield for United, while Herrera has been played a bit further up.
However, with Herrera now out for ‘weeks’ due to a rib fracture, it remains to be seen how Blind functions for United without the Spaniard.
