Ray Parlour hails Tony Adams as Arsenal’s best ever captain

Ray Parlour says that his former Arsenal teammate Tony Adams is the best captain the North London club have ever had.

Today is Tony Adams’s 47th birthday, and his former Arsenal teammate Ray Parlour has wished him in a special way.

On Friday morning, former England international midfielder took to social networking site Twitter to wish Adams a happy birthday, and claimed that he is the best ever captain of Arsenal.


Adams is an Arsenal legend and one of the greatest defenders ever to have played the game.

The former England international featured for the Gunners between 1983 and 2002, and won a plethora of trophies.

Adams won the First Division title with Arsenal in 1989 and 1991, and the Premier League in 1998 and 2002. The Englishman also claimed the FA Cup three times, the League Cup twice and the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup once.

Parlour featured for Arsenal from 1992 to 2004, winning the Premier League thrice, the FA Cup on four occasions, the League Cup once and the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup once in 1994.
