Daniel Sturrdge says the photo was pure coincidence, but he cannot wait to 'link up' with the Italian striker.
I told @mb459 that my dance was the ting!! Link up soon bro. We weren't even talking about that it just happened. @mb459 gonna have to come with a new swag together..
While the majority of the Liverpool first-team are currently away with their respective national teams not all of them are so lucky.
Melwood still has plenty of players around, including the main strike force tasked with firing Liverpool to success this season.
Balotelli is not a favourite of Italy's new coach Antonio Conte. He has now been left out of his previous two squads for his country with the likes of Southampton's Graziano Pelle and Sassuolo's Simone Zaza preferred.
Sturridge has been troubled by a thigh injury picked up on his previous trip to international duty with England.
So the two have had a chance to get acquainted this week, after Sturridge returned to first-team training.
They have barely met since the Italian arrived at Liverpool, so it will obviously do them well to get into footballing action together.
And Balotelli looks like he was quick to try and emulate Sturridge. Not by scoring goals, but by performing his goofy goal celebration dance for the England striker.
Sturridge shared this picture on Instagram, although he did make it clear they were not actually talking about the dance and that he was looking forward to a 'link up' with Balotelli as soon as he is back to full-fitness.
But he was clear on another fact. Balotelli will need his own dance move...
