Hector Bellerin is in line to make his Premier League debut for Arsenal next weekend.
The Gunners will take on Hull City at the Emirates Stadium in the league on Saturday.
Defender Calum Chambers is suspended, which means that Bellerin could start at right-back against the Tigers.
The 19-year-old is highly rated by the Arsenal officials and made his first-team debut against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in Germany last month.
Bellerin has yet to feature in the Premier League for the North London club, but veteran defender Per Mertesacker has said that he will always get the support of the senior members of the squad.
The German World Cup winner has advised Bellerin and other young players of the Arsenal squad to always come to him and other senior players for help and suggestions.
‘He’s a good addition to our squad and he can take his chance with Mathieu injured and Calum suspended’, Mertesacker told Arsenal’s official website. ‘He’s got some great chances and he has to take them now because you never know what will happen in football...
‘The most vital part is good communication on the pitch - they have to talk to me if there’s someone in my back. I have to encourage them to speak to me even though I’m 30 and have a lot of international caps. They have to be brave and be themselves.
‘He needs to talk as well and that’s what I demand from him. He listens a lot and he’s a good guy, which gives him a good chance to be a regular pro at Arsenal’.
It seems that Bellerin and other Arsenal youngsters will be well looked after by Mertesacker and the other senior members of the team.
