The above picture sums up John Obi Mikel's Chelsea career rather well.
The cameras are focusing on Diego Costa, the main man. Over the years, that main man has been Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard and more.
But never has it been Mikel, who - aptly - is in the background with Costa. But he is always there.
And his manager knows his value. Indeed, according to Jose Mourinho, Mikel offers Chelsea stability, even if it's just by coming off the bench.
“People on the bench are also coming on strong, the way they are playing, the way they react. Mikel comes on and gives stability to the team. I think we’re in a good moment," Mourinho is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard.
“When I play Mikel, I don’t need to say something to Nemanja Matic or Fabregas or to the team.
"They know what is going to happen, what the team are going to do, they know what Fabregas can give us when he then plays as a No.10 rather than a No.8. The team is very solid."
The Blues are currently top of the Premier League, five points clear of second-placed Manchester City, and are unbeaten after seven league matches. They are also yet to lose in the Capital One Cup or Champions League.
