‘Mature and talented’ – Manchester United’s Dutch teenager gets huge praise

19 Old Trafford

Paul McGuinness is full of praise for Manchester United academy player Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is probably not well known even among many Manchester United fans, but he seems to be quite highly rated by the club officials.

The Dutch teenager joined the Red Devils from Ajax in the summer transfer window, but he has yet to play a game for the academy team.

That’s because Fosu-Mensah has still not got international clearance to feature for United’s academy.

However, when the youngster does get the clearance, then he will prove to be a great signing. That’s the opinion of Paul McGuinness, United’s academy coach.

‘Timothy is still waiting for international clearance but he looks a really mature and talented player’, the 48-year-old told United’s official website. ‘He covers the ground well and I think he can make a big impact at our level.

‘He can play in a number of positions - centre-back, midfield or full-back, so I think he's another good, adaptable and highly-talented player’.

It seems that United have a young Dutch star on their books.
