Juventus and Roma to return to Manchester City man in January

Juventus were told to forget signing Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic in the summer, but reports suggest they could succeed in January.

Matija Nastasic is struggling to assert himself under Manuel Pellegrini and his time at Manchester City could be winding down.

The 21-year-old is seen as a great prospect but for the time being he isn't able to break into the first team and he is said to be becoming frustrated.

Nastasic is no stranger to Serie A having played for Fiorentina before joining City for £12 million in the summer of 2012. He is under contract until 2017.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are still determined to bring Nastasic in and they are struggling with a defensive shortage at the moment.

Juventus director Beppe Marotta reportedly asked Manchester City for Nastasic on loan during the summer but were given a flat rejection.

However, talks between the two clubs may go better in January with Nastasic cooling his heels on the bench.

A possible formula for a deal is a paid loan for around £1 million with a permanent agreement possible in June 2015 for around £6 million.

Roma are also supposedly interested in Nastasic and may challenge Juventus who they are also fighting in the battle for the Serie A title.
