Contrary to last week's reports that suggested Arsenal could land German midfielder Sami Khedira in January, Guillem Balague believes there is little chance of the Real Madrid man moving before the end of the season.
The Sky Sports pundit replied that Madrid want to keep hold of Khedira until the end of the season, and that a move to Arsenal in January is unlikely.
.@GuillemBalague Madrid want Khedira to stay the rest of the season - he's much needed. Arsenal deal for Jan unlikely.— Bleacher Report UK (@br_uk) October 10, 2014
It seems a little unusual that Madrid would not allow the 27-year-old to leave in January considering his contract expires at the end of June 2015.
If they do not sell him in January, then there is a huge chance that he will leave for nothing at the end of the season, which doesn't make much sense from a business point of view.
The German World Cup winner is rarely used at Madrid, with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos the preferred pairing in the centre of the midfield. He has only made two substitute appearances in the seven La Liga games Madrid have played so far this season.
