Ancelotti: Players had a problem with Mourinho

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that several players didn't see eye to eye with former boss Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is renowned for polarising opinion and his successor at Real Madrid claims that he had some enemies in the Spanish side's dressing room.

Ancelotti, who led Chelsea between 2009 and 2011, took over from Mourinho in the summer of 2013 and delivered the Champions League last season.

The Italian tactician has a rivalry with Mourinho and the two men crossed swords when Ancelotti led AC Milan and the Special One was at Inter.

"I already knew that there were problems in the dressing room between Mourinho and some of the players even before I arrived," Ancelotti told French site So Foot.

"But when I took charge of the team everything went back to normal. Everything was calm again."

While it comes as little surprise to fans or pundits to hear that Mourinho rubbed some players up the wrong way, Ancelotti's comments may antagonise the Portuguese coach, who doesn't like his managerial style being analysed in public.
