Sunday's draw with Ipswich Town was their fourth in a row, with goals hard to come by over the last month or so. Yet so far, Forest have conceded only nine goals this season, making them the third meanest defence in the Championship.
However, Pearce's defence has taken something of a hit with yet another injury to centre back Jack Hobbs. The former Liverpool defender was ruled out with an ankle injury in March, and whilst he returned this season, he's now out of action once again as his ankle problems continue.
Hobbs will now have surgery to repair his ankle, and will now be sidelined until at least Christmas as he recovers. The 26-year-old is now at risk of really dropping down the pecking order at the City Ground, with Michael Mancienne, Jamaal Lascelles, Kelvin Wilson and Danny Collins fighting for places in Pearce's side.
It's yet another in a long line of injuries for Hobbs, and Forest fans reacted on Twitter with disappointment and frustration, with some questioning whether he will play again.

I've finally given up on Hobbs ever playing more than two games in a row. Same goes for Vaughan. #nffc— Hannah Dexter (@hannahforest) October 9, 2014

Hobbs sidelined for 3 months then. There was something flying round about a month ago saying he may never play again. #nffc— infromthetrent (@infromthetrent) October 9, 2014
Massive blow with hobbs being out for potentially 3 months but hopefully when he returns he'll be like a new signing #nffc— @forest4eversteve (@biltonsteve) October 9, 2014
Why are people surprised or angry re Hobbs? I don't think he's ever completed a full season. Ever. #nffc— mason (@mason_tweet) October 9, 2014
I love Hobbs to bits but he's turning into the new Anderton 'sick note' #nffc— Adam Watson (@Green_Adz87) October 9, 2014
