4J Studios has confirmed the European version of the sandbox game arrives on Sony's PS Vita next week.

PS Vita owners in Europe are set to receive Minecraft on their Sony handheld devices on 15th October, according to a tweet from developer 4J Studios.

The tweet confirms that '#MinecraftPSVita passed final test and will be released on 15th October in Europe!' A follow up tweet confirmed that there's no release date for North America yet, but they will hopefully 'hear soon.'

The PS Vita edition of the game comes with Cross-Buy, so if you've already bought it on PS3 you can grab it for no additional cost. The PS4 edition is separate however.

4J Studios announced in a tweet last week that with the console version of the game now released, or on their way in the case the Vita, they're working on updating those versions in-line with PC version 1.6.4.
