Leeds United legend Eddie Gray has hailed new signing Giuseppe Bellusci, admitting he is a 'bit of a character'.
The former winger was speaking to Radio Yorkshire regarding the club's form, and says he is impressed with many of the new signings. He was particularly taken with how well the defender took his goal against Sheffield Wednesday during the club's last game.
He said: "Bellusci, whatever you think of him, he's a character, he comes up with the goods.
"He took his goal very well against Sheffield Wednesday, a cool finish. It's quite easy for a defender to blast that and send it into row Z, but he took his time and it was a good finish."
The pundit went onto comment that he feels the club are on the right track, but need to take it up a notch after the international break.
"Their position in the league reflects how they've been playing. When you actually analyse , 12 points out of 21, it's not bad that. There's room for improvement obviously.
"If they want to make the top six, no doubt performances have to improve a bit, but the signs are there.
"There were signs against Sheffield Wednesday they are getting to grips with how new coach wants to play.
"That'll take us there, or be out downfall. If they can adapt. If they don't they'll probably hover around mid-table."
As a worst case scenario that is not half as bad as the fate many bookies were offering under the management of Dave Hockaday, but such is the expectation at Leeds, that aiming higher is a realistic option at this early stage.
