Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Laurent Koscielny injury news

Arsenal fans are worried over the reports suggesting Laurent Koscielny is suffering with 'chronic Achilles tendinitis'.

Arsenal were dealt another blow today, or at least a worry, as Laurent Koscielny was sent home from international football duty with the France national team injured.

The FFF confirmed earlier today that Koscielny was suffering with 'chronic Achilles tendinitis' and would therefore play no part in the upcoming friendlies with Portugal and Armenia - with Newcastle United flop Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa called in as his replacement.

The news comes a day after Mesut Ozil was confirmed as out of action until 2015 with a knee ligament injury and Arsenal fans are vexed at yet another costly looking international break.

However, that is not the case.

Ozil arrived on international duty already injure while Koscielny, for now, has just been sent back as a precaution. With France's games just friendlies they decided not to risk the wrath of Arsene Wenger by playing a half fit Koscielny and exacerbating the symptoms of what can be a very painful condition.

But Arsenal are perhaps allowed to be fearful over Koscielny, considering how weak they are at the centre of defence.

If Koscielny does remain injured the club sold Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona in the summer and serial yellow card collector Calum Chambers is suspended for the next game - leaving Per Mertesacker as the only fully-fit recognised centre-back at the club.

So it was understandable that Arsenal fans got into something of a panic today when the news was announced on Twitter.
