Tottenham Hotspur latest, Yedlin focussed on MLS, Dembele targets top four

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Thursday evening.

DeAndre Yedlin has said he is focussed on his current duties with MLS side Seattle Sounders despite sealing a move to Tottenham for next season.

The defender completed the £2.4 million transfer in August, and despite the move to North London in 2015, he says he remains focussed on his football across the Atlantic.

He's quoted in the Daily Mail, saying: "Right now, I'm just trying to focus on the MLS season."

Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele has admitted the side have been below par at the start of the season as they adapt to life under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.

There have been some good moments so far though, as impressive displays in their past two league outings against Arsenal and Southampton have given reason for encouragement.

But Dembele has told the London Evening Standard: “It’s always something new when a new manager is in but we are in a good way and we are confident. The manager has spoken with everyone individually since he came here about aspects of our game.

“How can we do this season? We want to finish as high as possible, so that is the top four, of course.”

Left-back Ben Davies has said he wants to make the left-back spot his own at White Hart Lane after signing from Swansea City in the summer.

Davies is rivalling Danny Rose for a place in the Spurs side, but Rose is getting the nod ahead of the Welshman at the moment.

The 21-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports, saying: “Of course, it’s a difficult situation because you want to play as many games as you can. But I’m working as hard as I can. Hopefully that time is not too far away."
