Gervinho has relaunched his career at Roma after a tough spell at Arsenal and has been integral in the team's rise to become title challengers.
The 27-year-old's pace has caused problems for defences all over Italy and he must be amongst the fastest men in Serie A.
But Ivorian sprinter Ahouré, who won silver medals in the 100m and 200m at the World Championships in Moscow last year, thinks she can outpace him.
It remains to be seen whether Gervinho takes up the challenge. At present he is focused on Roma's Serie A campaign and the Ivory Coast's 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers as they look to bounce back from their 4-1 loss to Cameroon last month.
