Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes has taken the rare step of speaking publicly about his client's future.
The often referred to 'super-agent', who also represents Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria usually pulls the strings behind the scenes, but he has suggested enquiries over Ronaldo will be fruitless.
He is quoted by Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo: "Cristiano holds United dear to his heart because he was there six years.
"But now he just thinks of the Real Madrid and he will always be there, and he is thrilled.
"People know that it is impossible to get Cristiano 's Real Madrid, so it's not worth calling to ask for him."
United have been strongly linked with bringing Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, after rumours sprang up that he was pining for a return.
Mendes went on to add that Ronaldo's immediate goal is to win another Champions League trophy with Real.
