The Spanish duo arrived in West London over the summer, and have gone on to light up the Premier League.
Costa has netted nine goals in seven games, whilst Fabregas has been pulling the strings behind him, registering seven assists - most of them for his international compatriot.
Their early season form has seen the Blues rise to the top of the Premier League table, five points clear of closest rivals Manchester City, and remain undefeated in all competitions. The performances have wowed fans of every team, and has made their combined £57 million fee pale into insignificance.
They have already started to cement themselves as key players at Stamford Bridge, and many feel it will not be too long before the duo are lauded as fan favourites and club legends. And one former legend shares this opinion, with former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise confident that Costa and Fabregas can become some of the all-time greats to have graced the Stamford Bridge turf.
Speaking to WestLondonSport, Wise, who was the Blues most successful captain until John Terry, said: “You look at that pass from Fabregas to Costa [for the second goal] and it looks like they have been playing for years.
“I think they can be as good as anything Chelsea have ever had – it’s early to say that but what is happening between them is just incredible. The numbers speak for themselves.”
Despite winning two FA Cups, the League Cup, the Cup Winners Cup and the Super Cup during his 11-years as a Chelsea player, Wise never got his hands on the Premier League trophy, but he feels as if the new pair can be the difference in the title race this season - especially when Costa has returned to full fitness.
He added: “It will be that combination that will make the difference in the title race. It was the difference against Arsenal and it will be throughout the season I am sure.”
“It’s going to be interesting to see how Costa is when fully fit as he is frightening now.”
